Major Bhagalpur Train Disruptions: Massive Cancellations & Diversions Announced!

Travelers planning to move through the East Central Railway zone should prepare for significant changes to their schedules. Due to essential infrastructure upgrades, a large number of trains passing through or originating from Bhagalpur will face diversions, cancellations, and delays between September 21 and October 4.
The Reason Behind the Changes
The railway department is undertaking critical pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking works to improve connectivity. The project involves connecting a new bridge to the double line and establishing a main line connection between Dinkar Gram Simaria and Barauni. The work will be concentrated at the following stations:
- Rajendra Pul
- Hathidah Junction Upper
- Tall
- Rampur Dumra
- Dinkar Gram Simaria
Major Train Diversions to Note

Garib Rath Express (22405/22406)
The Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Garib Rath Express (22405) will be diverted via the Kiul-Gaya-Grand Chord line on September 22, 24, 26, 29, and October 1 and 3. Its return counterpart, the Anand Vihar Terminal-Bhagalpur Garib Rath Express (22406), will operate via the Grand Chord-Kiul-Gaya route on September 21, 23, 25, 28, 30, and October 2.
Amarnath Express (15097/15098)
The Bhagalpur-Jammu Tawi Amarnath Express (15097) will run via Ratanpur-Munger-Barauni on September 24 and October 1. The return service, 15098, will follow this route on September 22 and 29.
Intercity and Superfast Services
The Danapur-Bhagalpur Intercity Express (13402) will be diverted via Bakhtiyarpur-Bihar Sharif-Sheikhpura-Kiul on October 3. Similarly, the Surat-Bhagalpur Superfast Express (22947) will use this alternative path on September 22, 26, and 29.
