Malda Division Launches Digital Life Certificate Campaign 5.0
Eastern Railway's Malda Division starts Digital Life Certificate Campaign 5.0 to help pensioners submit life certificates via face authentication.

The Malda Division of Eastern Railway has officially kicked off the Digital Life Certificate Campaign 5.0 to simplify the mandatory verification process for its retired employees. This special drive, which commenced on Monday, November 2, 2026, is designed to provide a hassle-free experience for railway pensioners.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Mandar Conference Hall within the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) office in Malda. On the very first day of operations, 47 pensioners successfully utilized the facility to complete their requirements.
A Seamless Experience for Senior Citizens
This nationwide campaign, organized by the Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare in coordination with Indian Railways, is scheduled to run from November 1 through November 30, 2026. The initiative aims to provide a seamless and accessible method for pensioners to submit their life certificates, significantly reducing the need for physical visits to banks or pension offices.
To assist those facing mobility challenges, the campaign prominently features Face Authentication Technology. This modern system allows pensioners to generate their certificates using Android or iOS devices, effectively bypassing the need for traditional fingerprint scanners that can often be difficult for senior citizens to use.
Help Centers and Operating Hours
To ensure maximum accessibility, local help centers have been established across the Malda Division. These centers will remain operational on all working days during the following hours:
- Operating Hours: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Essential Documents for Verification
To ensure a smooth and efficient process at the help centers, officials have advised all participating pensioners to carry the following essential documents:
- Aadhaar Card
- Pension Payment Order (PPO) booklet
- Bank Passbook
Pensioners are strongly urged to complete their verification process within the November window to prevent any potential disruptions to their monthly pension payments.
The initiative is a collaborative effort involving several key organizations, including the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), UIDAI, various pension-disbursing banks, the India Post Payments Bank, and local Pensioners' Welfare Associations.
