Ministry of Railways approves Rs 60.94 crore overbridge project in Khadda

The Ministry of Railways has officially sanctioned the construction of a rail overbridge at the Subhash Chowk railway crossing in Khadda with a total budget allocation of Rs 60.94 crore. This vital infrastructure initiative was set into motion following persistent efforts by Kushinagar Member of Parliament Vijay Kumar Dubey to ease daily commuting hassles for local residents. To accelerate the implementation of the scheme, the Railway Construction Department headed by Additional Chief Engineer N.K. Sinha has formally requested the Detailed Project Report to quickly initiate the mandatory tendering process. MP Vijay Kumar Dubey has also confirmed that he plans to personally conduct the grand foundation stone laying ceremony for the bridge in close coordination with senior railway officials in the near future.

Major Relief for Local Commuters and Villages

Once construction is fully completed, this new rail overbridge is expected to permanently resolve significant transit challenges faced by the residents of numerous local villages. Specifically, the ambitious structure will directly benefit approximately 50 sugarcane-producing villages in the region by smoothing out the transportation of agricultural produce. Furthermore, the overbridge will ease daily commute routes for school-going children and ensure much faster access for critical emergency services such as ambulances which frequently get stuck at the busy level crossing.
