Moradabad Division to Invest ₹32 Crore in Station Upgrades
The Moradabad Railway Division is set to undertake a massive infrastructure overhaul to boost operational capacity. A new tender, valued at approximately ₹32.01 crore, has been issued to facilitate significant upgrades at three key railway stations: Agwanpur, Dalelnagar, and Chodiyala.
Boosting Freight Movement and Track Efficiency
A primary objective of this development project is to streamline train movements across the division. To prevent congestion, the railway authorities plan to construct additional lines on both sides of the main tracks at all three targeted stations.
These technical enhancements are specifically designed to:
- Accommodate long freight trains more effectively.
- Minimize the need to hold freight traffic on the main lines.
- Ensure a smoother and clearer path for passenger and other essential train traffic.
Enhancing Passenger Safety and Infrastructure
Beyond freight efficiency, the project places a strong emphasis on passenger amenities and safety. The division intends to construct new, elevated platforms to improve the boarding experience and overall safety for commuters.
Furthermore, the project scope includes:
- Resolving existing issues related to railway level crossings.
- Constructing new dedicated buildings for signaling and telecommunications systems to modernize station operations.
Major Transformation at Agwanpur Station
Agwanpur station is set to see some of the most significant changes. In a move to improve local connectivity and safety, the authorities plan to replace the current level crossing with a modern underpass. This will be supported by the construction of a new approach road to ensure seamless access to the station area.
The tender process is currently underway, with interested parties required to submit their bids by October 8.
