Moradabad Railway Touts: Division Launches Festive Crackdown!
Moradabad Railway Division intensifies surveillance to stop Moradabad railway touts from exploiting passengers during the festive season.
The Moradabad Railway Division has launched a rigorous vigilance drive to protect passengers from Moradabad railway touts and unauthorized agents during the high-demand festival season. As travel demand surges, officials are stepping up oversight to ensure a fair booking process for all.
Surprise Inspections at Stations
To prevent exploitation, railway officials are conducting surprise inspections at various stations under their jurisdiction. The crackdown focuses on maintaining strict oversight of both physical reservation counters and digital booking processes to ensure that genuine travelers can secure their tickets without interference.
Essential Tatkal Booking Guidelines
During the festive rush, many passengers rely on the Tatkal reservation scheme. To avoid falling victim to scams, it is vital to understand the specific booking windows:
- AC Classes: Booking begins at 10:00 AM daily.
- Non-AC Classes: Booking begins at 11:00 AM daily.
Passengers can book these tickets one day in advance, excluding the date of the journey from the train's originating station.
The 30-Minute Rule for Agents
To protect the integrity of the system, authorized agents face strict limitations. They are prohibited from booking Tatkal tickets during the first 30 minutes of the opening window:
- 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM for AC class bookings.
- 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM for non-AC class bookings.
Security Measures and Passenger Limits
The railway administration has implemented several layers of security to curb fraudulent activity and mass bookings by unauthorized individuals:
- PNR Limits: There is a maximum limit of four passengers allowed per PNR under the Tatkal scheme.
- Digital Authentication: For online bookings via IRCTC, Aadhaar-based OTP authentication is mandatory for user profiles to prevent identity fraud.
- Refund Policy: It is important to note that confirmed Tatkal tickets are non-refundable upon cancellation.
The ongoing surveillance is intended to prevent touts from exploiting the high volume of passenger traffic during the holiday period.
