Elected representatives from the Jhansi division met on Friday September 11 2026 at the Orchha Palace and Convention Center in Jhansi to discuss regional railway development and passenger amenities. The high-level meeting was chaired by the General Manager of North Central Railway alongside various key railway administration officials.

During the collaborative session several important connectivity demands and station upgrades were brought forward by regional leaders. Here are the key highlights from the discussions.

Banda MP Krishna Devi Shivshankar Patel called for the comprehensive development of Atarra railway station and proposed a new train service connecting Chitrakootdham Karwi to Rameswaram.

Orai Jalaun MP Narayan Das Ahirwar requested direct train connections from Orai to New Delhi along with a new service linking Konch to Kanpur.

Railway Progress and Administration Response



Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Aman Verma delivered a detailed presentation outlining ongoing infrastructure and passenger amenity projects across the Jhansi division. Addressing the assembly the General Manager of North Central Railway confirmed that the government has allocated sufficient funding for regional upgrades and that high-level monitoring is actively accelerating several long-pending railway initiatives.

Railway officials assured all participating Members of Parliament that their valuable suggestions will be carefully reviewed. Furthermore railway authorities clarified that any proposals falling outside the operational jurisdiction of the North Central Railway will be formally submitted to the Railway Board and other relevant railway zones for further consideration and appropriate action.
