Commuters traveling via the Central Railway network in Mumbai should prepare for significant service disruptions this coming Sunday, November 1, 2026. To facilitate essential engineering works, including track repairs and technical upgrades to the signaling system, a major megablock has been scheduled across the Main and Trans-Harbour lines.
Main Line Disruptions: CSMT to Vidyavihar
The Central Railway has announced a five-hour megablock on the Main Line. This will affect the Up and Down slow corridors between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Vidyavihar.
The block is scheduled to take place during the following window:
- Timing: 10:55 am to 3:55 pm
During this period, slow suburban local trains will be diverted onto the fast lines. Passengers should be prepared for potential Train Delays and some service cancellations as the railway manages the diverted traffic.
Trans-Harbour Line: Major Cancellations Expected
The Trans-Harbour Line will face even more significant impacts, with a total suspension of services between Thane and Vashi/Nerul for five hours. The scheduled block for this section will run from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm.
As a result of this maintenance work, several services will be canceled:
Down Services (Towards Vashi, Nerul, and Panvel)
All Down Trans-Harbour services departing from Thane for Vashi, Nerul, and Panvel will be canceled between 10:35 am and 4:07 pm.
Up Services (Towards Thane)
All Up Trans-Harbour services bound for Thane, departing from Panvel, Nerul, and Vashi, will be canceled between 10:25 am and 4:09 pm.
Harbour Line and Western Railway Status
While the Main and Trans-Harbour lines face heavy disruptions, the Harbour Line will remain largely unaffected. Services running between CSMT-Goregaon, CSMT-Panvel, and the Port line (Nerul/Belapur to Uran) will operate according to their regular Sunday schedule.
For those using the Western Railway, there will be no daytime megablock on Sunday. However, commuters should note that a night block has been scheduled on the fast lines between Borivali and Bhayandar. This will occur during the intervening night of Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1.
