Who will benefit from this extension

Currently, the Harbour Line only reaches Goregaon, forcing passengers to change trains to reach Borivali. Once completed, passengers from Malad, Kandivali, Borivali, and Goregaon will have direct access to CSMT, Wadala, Kurla, Panvel, and Navi Mumbai. This will save travel time and reduce congestion for thousands of daily commuters.

What is the current progress of the work

Sumit Thakur, CPRO of Western Railway, confirmed that geo-technical and drone surveys are finished and the track alignment is decided. Land acquisition is in the final stages, with 54.1% of the route already available.
