The Central Railway’s Bhusaval Division completed technical upgrades on a crucial 800-meter stretch. Why was this section challenging for the engineering team?
This particular stretch posed several difficulties for the railway team due to its location in a semi-ghat region. The track is situated on a high formation of about 9 meters and has a curved alignment, making access for heavy machinery quite difficult. Dr. Swapnil Nila, CPRO of Central Railway, confirmed that removing this restriction was essential as it previously impacted the overall travel time of several express and passenger trains on the Mumbai-Nagpur route. The project required precise engineering to stabilize the track formation in such a sensitive zone.
