Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: Nawada Railway Station redeveloped with modern facilities, check details

The Ministry of Railways has shared updates regarding the redeveloped Nawada Railway Station in Bihar, highlighting its transition into a modern transit hub. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the station has undergone a complete transformation to provide better passenger amenities and infrastructure. This project is a key part of the national initiative to upgrade railway stations across India to meet international standards.

What new facilities are available at Nawada station?

The newly developed station building is a two-story structure designed to handle passenger traffic efficiently. It features separate gates for arrival and departure to ensure smooth movement during peak hours. A large circulating area and comfortable waiting halls have been constructed for the convenience of travelers. For better navigation, the station now includes clear signage, a new foot overbridge, and various digital display systems. The Danapur Railway Division is also installing digital clocks and coach indication boards to help passengers track their trains easily.

Project background and connectivity updates

The redevelopment work at Nawada was part of the foundation stone laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2024. To make way for this modern infrastructure, the old station building from 1879 was demolished in late 2025. In addition to the station upgrades, a new rail line project is also making progress in the region. The 25.10 kilometer long Nawada-Pawapuri rail line, with a budget of 492.14 crore, will connect the famous Jain pilgrimage site of Pawapuri directly to the main rail network.
