NER Alert: 14 Trains Diverted! Gorakhpur-Gonda Signaling Work to Change Routes
Passengers traveling through the Northeast Railway (NER) zone need to plan their journeys with extra care. Due to essential non-interlocking work required for the installation of automatic signaling on the Gorakhpur-Gonda section, the railway has announced significant route diversions and operational changes for 14 trains between September 24 and September 27.
Major Rescheduling and Station Bypasses
The signaling upgrades will result in several trains skipping scheduled stops or arriving at different times. From September 25 to September 27, multiple services will bypass the following stations:
- Ayodhya
- Basti
- Gorakhpur
- Khalilabad
- Mankapur
- Maskanwan
- Swami Narayan Chhapia
Furthermore, the 07076 Gorakhpur-Hyderabad train will experience a delay, with its schedule being pushed back by 150 minutes on September 27.
Key Train Diversions to Note
To facilitate the work, several long-distance trains will follow alternative paths:
- 20103 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Gorakhpur: On September 26, this train will operate via Gonda-Barhni-Gorakhpur, skipping stops at Maskanwan, Babhnan, Basti, and Khalilabad.
- 15024 Yesvantpur-Gorakhpur: On September 24, this service will run via Barabanki-Gonda-Barhni-Gorakhpur, resulting in cancelled stops at Ayodhya Cantt, Ayodhya, Mankapur, and Basti.
- 22549 Gorakhpur-Prayagraj Junction: On September 27, this train will take the Mankapur-Gonda-Barabanki route and will not stop at Ayodhya.
- Barauni & Darbhanga to New Delhi Services: On September 26, trains 02563 (Barauni-New Delhi) and 02569 (Darbhanga-New Delhi) will divert via Chhapra-Aunrihar-Banaras-Prayagraj Junction to reach Kanpur Central. Similarly, 02
