New Daily Night Train: Kanpur Central to Anand Vihar Terminal Approved!

Travelers commuting between Kanpur and Delhi are set to receive a significant boost in rail connectivity. The Indian Railways has officially sanctioned a brand-new daily overnight train service connecting Kanpur Central and Anand Vihar Terminal.
The Railway Board granted formal approval for this new service, identified by train numbers 14153/14154, on September 24, 2026. According to officials, the decision was driven by persistent public demand for more overnight travel options on this heavily utilized route.

Relief for Travelers During Festival Season
This new daily service is strategically designed to alleviate the intense pressure on existing trains, particularly the Shram Shakti Express, which frequently faces extreme demand for confirmed berths. By adding this extra capacity, the Railways aims to provide more reliable travel options for the public.
The timing of this launch is especially critical as it prepares for the anticipated surge in passenger numbers during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja festivals. While the service has been officially approved, the exact date when regular operations will begin will be announced following an official notification.
