New Delhi-Katra Special Trains for Navratri Festive Rush

To accommodate the massive surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming festive season, Northern Railway has announced the operation of special train services between New Delhi and Katra. This move is specifically designed to facilitate pilgrims traveling to visit Mata Vaishno Devi during the auspicious Navratri period.
The decision comes as the railway administration prepares for the heavy holiday rush, ensuring that devotees have reliable transport options for their spiritual journeys.
Detailed Schedule for New Special Services
Northern Railway has outlined specific timings for the new special services to ensure smooth operations. The schedule for the upcoming trips is as follows:
- Train Number 04083 (New Delhi to Katra Special): This train is scheduled to depart from New Delhi at 2:00 PM on October 9 and October 16, 2026. It is expected to arrive in Katra at 3:00 AM the following day.
- Train Number 04084 (Katra to New Delhi Special): The return service will depart from Katra at 10:00 AM on October 10 and October 17, 2026, reaching New Delhi at 11:30 PM on the same day.
In addition to these new dates, the existing special service operating under train numbers 04081/04082 will continue its operations until October 26, providing further relief to travelers.
LHB Coaches and Route Details
The 655-kilometer journey will be serviced by 22 LHB coaches, offering a mix of both AC and sleeper class accommodations to cater to different passenger preferences. The use of modern LHB coaches ensures a safer and more comfortable experience for the pilgrims.

- Ambala Cantt
