• As of early September 2026, 147 Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals are fully operational across India under a policy launched on December 15, 2021.
• The broader cargo terminal program has successfully attracted approximately ₹10,000 crore in private investment for the first 142 commissioned terminals, boasting a combined freight handling capacity of 224 million tonnes per annum.
• The government has granted in-principle approval for 45 additional terminals with an estimated private investment of ₹3,600 crore, targeted for completion by the 2027-28 financial year.
