The project is estimated to cost 90 crore rupees and will be developed in two phases. In the first phase, the railway will build four platforms, a station building, parking, and a circulating area. The second phase will add four more platforms to double the capacity. This station will work as a coaching terminal for train maintenance and stabling.

How will this project benefit passengers and operations?

The new station is located about 3 km from Kanpur Central and 500 meters from Govindpuri. It will help in reducing congestion and allow the introduction of new train routes on the Delhi-Howrah line. Senior DCM Himanshu Shukla confirmed that the proposal is with the Railway Board for final budget and approval.
