New MEMU Services: Satna, Rewa and Rampur Naikin Connectivity Boost

The Jabalpur division of West Central Railway has moved a significant proposal to the Railway Board to introduce new MEMU services for Satna, Rewa and Rampur Naikin. This initiative aims to enhance daily commuting options and strengthen the rail network within the region.

The proposal, which was formally submitted on October 7, 2026, outlines two distinct daily MEMU passenger services. The first route is intended to run from Satna through Rewa to Rampur Naikin, while the second service will connect Satna to Devendranagar. While the final commencement of these services depends on official approval from the Railway Board, projections suggest that passenger operations between Rewa and Rampur Naikin could potentially begin as early as October 10.

To ensure the feasibility of these new routes, the General Manager of West Central Railway conducted a thorough inspection of the Rewa-Rampur Naikin rail section on October 7, 2026. The inspection focused on assessing the operational readiness of the tracks and stations.

Significant strides have been made in infrastructure development in this sector. A successful high-speed trial was recently conducted at 110 kilometers per hour on the newly constructed section between Rampur Naikin and Churhat. While track work is now complete up to Churhat, construction is actively progressing toward Sidhi, with a target completion date set for 2028.

Furthermore, the regional rail infrastructure has seen the completion of two new stations in the Rewa district: Silpara and Govindgarh. Both stations have been fully operational-ready for over a year, waiting to serve the growing passenger demand.
