New MEMU Train: Bhadohi-Prayagraj-Varanasi Connectivity Boost

The Railway Board has officially sanctioned the introduction of a new Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train service operating on the Bhadohi-Prayagraj-Varanasi route. This move is set to provide a major boost to connectivity across the Purvanchal region, making travel easier for thousands of passengers.
A Major Win for Purvanchal Commuters
The approval for this new service comes after a formal request was made by local Member of Parliament Dr. Vinod Kumar Bind. Following the request, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw issued the necessary authorization. On October 2, 2026, the Railway Board issued specific instructions to begin the preparation of the train's official timetable.
The new service will operate on the Banaras-Prayagraj Rambag section, specifically designed to serve the needs of residents in the following districts:
- Mirzapur
- Varanasi
- Prayagraj
- Bhadohi
Route Details and Scheduled Halts
The MEMU service is designed to be highly accessible, with scheduled stops at seven stations along the route. To ensure seamless travel for local commuters, the train will have confirmed halts at the following locations:
- Madhosingh
- Gyanpur Road
- Handia Khas
