Which trains will get extra sleeper coaches?
The railway has identified several key routes where passenger pressure is high. For the Ajmer-Amritsar and Ajmer-Bandra Terminus routes, extra sleeper coaches will be attached to handle the crowd. Additionally, the North Western Railway plans to add a total of 132 extra coaches across 52 pairs of trains by May 2026 to ensure smooth travel for everyone.

What did the railway officials say?
Amit Sudarshan, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Western Railway, stated that adding these temporary sleeper coaches will provide great relief to passengers. He mentioned that this step will not only lower the waiting lists but also make train operations more organized during the peak holiday and festival seasons. This will increase the chances of passengers getting confirmed tickets.
