Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Banaras-Hadapsar (Pune) Amrit Bharat Express on April 28, 2026. This new service aims to provide an affordable and comfortable travel option for passengers traveling between Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. The inaugural run of train number 02531 departed from Banaras at 4:45 PM.

What are the train timings and route details

The inaugural train departed Banaras on April 28 and is expected to reach Hadapsar at 00:55 AM the next day. It covers about 1530 km in approximately 30 to 31 hours. The train makes 18 stops including Prayagraj, Jhansi, Itarsi, and Bhusawal. A one-way return special train (01453) will run from Hadapsar to Banaras on April 30, 2026.

What are the facilities and coach details

The train is built with push-pull technology for better speed and acceleration. It is designed specifically for lower and middle-income passengers with a focus on safety and comfort. The train consists of 22 coaches in total.
