There has been a shocking incident in Hajipur city. The body of BJP leader’s brother and medicine businessman Rajiv Kumar (53) was found in a critical condition with blood stains at his residence in Pokhra Mohalla area of Nagar Thana and Navin Cinema Road. The throat of the deceased was slit, causing panic in the entire area.
As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot in Nagar Thana area. Subsequently, SDPO-1 Subodh Kumar inspected the crime scene with the police team. The room was sealed by the police and the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) team was called for investigation.
The case is very sensitive as the way the throat was slit is not normal, so both murder and suicide angles are being investigated. The FSL team has preserved the crime scene and evidence is being collected.
Relatives have informed the police that Rajiv Kumar had been suffering from depression for a long time and was undergoing treatment. According to family members, after his wife went to school, he allegedly committed suicide by slitting his throat with sand.
The deceased’s elder brother Ajit Singh is said to be a senior BJP leader and college professor. Upon receiving information about the incident, local MLA Avadhesh Singh also reached the spot and met with family members to offer condolences.
