Train services between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir are back on track after a year. The Rail Bridge No. 17 over the Ravi river, which was damaged by floods in August 2025, has been repaired. When will the cancelled trains start running
Many trains that were cancelled for a year will start operating again from June 2026. Some trains that were ending their journey midway will resume full services from June 15, 2026. To handle the summer holiday rush, Northern Railway has added extra coaches to the Jammu Tawi–New Delhi Rajdhani Express and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–New Delhi Express between June 6 and June 13, 2026.

The Ministry of Railways has allocated about Rs 362 crore to install the ‘KAVACH’ automatic train protection system in the Jammu Division to prevent accidents. Additionally, a new extended Srinagar-Jammu Vande Bharat Express started its regular runs on May 2, 2026. For the Amarnath Yatra starting July 3, 2026, the government has arranged 670 companies of security forces to protect the tracks and highways.
