If you travel via the Blue Line in Delhi and Noida, you might need a few extra minutes for your commute this month. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started major overhauling work on specific escalators at six busy stations. This maintenance is being done to ensure better safety and smoother movement for everyone in the long run. Officials have confirmed that this is a routine upgrade to keep the machinery reliable for daily commuters.

Which Stations Are Affected by This Work?
The maintenance work is happening at key stations connecting Delhi and Noida. The DMRC has identified specific escalators at these locations that require deep cleaning and technical repairs. The list of affected stations and escalator sections is as follows:
- Laxmi Nagar: Platform-1 to Concourse
- Botanical Garden: Concourse to Platform-2
- Golf Course: Concourse to Platform-2
- Noida City Centre: Concourse to Platform-2
- Noida Sector-16: Ground to Concourse
- Noida Sector-18: Ground to Concourse
How Long Will the Work Last and What Should You Do?
Based on recent schedules for similar upgrades, this overhauling work typically takes about 3 to 4 weeks to complete. During this period, the mentioned escalators will remain strictly closed for public usage. The technical teams will dismantle and replace worn-out parts to ensure safety sensors are working perfectly.
Passengers are advised to use the lifts available at these stations to move between floors. This is especially important for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and travelers carrying heavy bags. Since there might be a small queue at the lifts or stairs, it is best to keep a margin of 5 to 10 minutes in your travel plan to reach your destination on time.
