Union Minister Savitri Thakur recently opened the Dhar-Gunawad railway overbridge for public use. In a gesture of appreciation, the Minister asked the construction workers to cut the ribbon and start the traffic. This bridge is a key part of the ongoing Indore-Dahod new rail line project in the Dhar district.

Several bridges have been made operational to improve local traffic. While the Dhar-Gunawad section is now active, other bridges like Bridge No. 234 and 221 at Sagour and Manpur were also inaugurated. These two bridges cost around 107 crore rupees and were completed in 10 months. Additionally, Bridge 236 between Pithampur and Sagour was opened by Savitri Thakur, Vikram Verma, and Nina Verma.
When will trains start on the Indore-Dahod line?
Railway officials stated that the track work is almost finished. Tower wagons were used for inspections between March 23 and 26, 2026, to ensure everything is safe. Train operations on the Indore-Dahod rail line are expected to begin by October-November 2026.
