The Railway Board gave the official approval on April 27, 2026. North Eastern Railway (NER) is the zone responsible for providing the rakes for this MEMU train. MP Rajiv Rai is credited for raising this issue in Parliament and writing to the Ministry.
On May 1, 2026, Cabinet Minister AK Sharma attended a thank-you event at Dohrighat station. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for the approval and promised that the formal launch will happen soon.
