A heavy rain and storm caused a major disruption on the Ayodhya-Manikpur railway track in Gonda on Monday, May 4, 2026. A large tree fell across the rails, bringing train movement to a complete standstill for several hours. Passengers faced significant delays as the track was blocked between Kishundaspur and Tikri stations.

Which train was affected and for how long

The passenger train number 64219, traveling from Gorakhpur to Ayodhya, was the most affected. The train remained stopped near Tikri station for 2 hours and 32 minutes. Passengers had to wait on the train until the railway staff cleared the debris from the track.

How was the railway track cleared

Railway employees worked hard to remove the fallen tree from the line. After the track was cleared and verified for safety, the movement of trains was restored. SP Choubey, the in-charge of Katra RPF outpost in Ayodhya, confirmed that the tree was removed and the train was sent on its way.
