The construction of a new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Hapur Railway Station has gained speed as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. On Monday, May 4, 2026, railway officials implemented a mega block to place heavy girders between platform one and two. This new structure will replace the old, dilapidated bridge to make commuting easier for passengers.

What are the key features of the new FOB?

The new bridge is designed to be 12 meters wide, which is significantly larger than the previous one. It will connect the outer premises of the station to all platforms and extend beyond the railway lines to the opposite side. To help elderly and specially-abled passengers, the bridge will include modern facilities like lifts and automatic escalators.

When will the project be completed?

According to Moradabad Divisional Manager Vineeta Srivastava, the target for completing the new Foot Over Bridge is October 2026. While the first set of girders was placed on May 4, the remaining girders for platforms three and four are scheduled for installation later this week. The overall renovation of the junction will be finalized after the bridge is ready.

How was the construction managed without disrupting trains?

Station Superintendent Ramkesh Meena confirmed that a mega block was taken from 1:20 PM to 2:35 PM on May 4 for the girder placement. Despite the 75-minute block, train operations continued without disruption as trains were rerouted through other platforms, including platform number four. Safety protocols were strictly followed under the supervision of railway officials.
