The station has undergone a major makeover under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme with an investment of Rs 12.8 crore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the redeveloped station on May 22, 2025. To reduce the load on Agra Fort Station, the Agra Division shifted 12 pairs of trains (24 trains) to stop at Idgah Agra Junction. This decision was approved by the Railway Board on May 30, 2025.
