Improvements in Amrit Bharat Version 2.0
Indian Railways has introduced 12 significant enhancements in the Amrit Bharat Version 2.0 train, aimed at improving passenger convenience. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced these improvements during his inspection of the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) on Friday. A total of 50 Amrit Bharat Version 2.0 trains are set to be manufactured over the next two years, showcasing a commitment to modernizing rail travel in India.
Key Features of Amrit Bharat Version 2.0
The features of Amrit Bharat Version 2.0 include semi-automatic couplers, modular toilets, new chair pillars and partitions, an emergency talk back feature, and an emergency brake system. Additionally, there is a continuous lighting system similar to that of the Vande Bharat trains, along with ergonomically designed seats and berths. The design of the pantry car has also been improved, and the service has been enhanced for low-income passengers, making travel more comfortable and safe for long distances at affordable fares.
Enhanced Facilities and Safety Measures
Passengers in general coaches will also experience better facilities, such as comfortable seating, mobile charging points, water bottle storage, and mobile holders. In terms of safety, the Railway Minister highlighted the installation of the KAVACH system on 10,000 locomotives and across 15,000 kilometers of track to minimize accidents. Furthermore, cameras are being installed on the front of locomotives, and new point machines have been engineered to prevent damage.
