East Central Railway (ECR) has announced 7 pairs of special trains to help passengers during the summer vacation rush. These trains will connect major cities across Bihar, Eastern, and Central India. The move aims to reduce overcrowding and make travel easier for people heading home for the holidays.
Which routes and stations are covered
The special trains will stop at several key stations to ensure maximum reach. Major halts include Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Junction, Patna, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Patliputra, Gaya, and Dhanbad. CPRO Saraswati Chandra stated that these services are designed to provide relief to passengers during the peak summer season.

What is the overall summer plan
This initiative is part of a larger national plan by Indian Railways. Across the country, over 18,200 special train trips will be operated until July 15, 2026. Out of these, the East Central Railway zone alone will manage 2,711 services to handle the increased passenger flow.
