Launch of the Lucknow-Kanpur Vande Bharat Metro Train

The highly anticipated Lucknow-Kanpur Vande Bharat Metro train is set to commence operations within the next three months. In addition to connecting Lucknow and Kanpur, reports indicate that the service will be extended to four more cities: Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, and Varanasi. These new routes will be introduced in a phased manner, enhancing connectivity in the region.

Fare Structure and Duration of Travel

On the Lucknow-Kanpur route, the fare for passengers is approximately ₹500, while traveling to Ayodhya is expected to cost around ₹750. The train is designed to cover the distance between Lucknow and Kanpur in a swift 45 minutes, maintaining a speed of 130 km/h. For other destinations, the fares will range between ₹900 and ₹1000, with varying travel times: 90 minutes to Ayodhya, 115 minutes to Prayagraj, 210 minutes to Gorakhpur, and 225 minutes to Varanasi.

Route Coverage and Travel Times

The Vande Metro train will significantly improve travel efficiency between key cities. Passengers will enjoy a quick 45-minute journey from Lucknow to Kanpur, while the travel time to Ayodhya is set at 90 minutes. The train will take 115 minutes to reach Prayagraj, and longer durations of 210 minutes and 225 minutes are expected for Gorakhpur and Varanasi, respectively. This expansion of the rail network aims to facilitate better access and convenience for commuters in northern India.
