North Central Railway has issued a notification to re-employ 1250 retired employees in the Prayagraj Division. This move aims to fill vacant positions across various departments using the experience of former staff. Eligible retired employees can submit their applications by June 5, 2026.

What are the eligibility and application details?
Retired employees up to 65 years of age can apply for these contract-based positions. Applicants must not have been covered under the LARSGESS scheme and should have a clean record with no pending departmental or vigilance cases. A minimum of ‘Good’ grading in the last five Annual Confidential Reports (APARs) is required. The selection will be based on an interview and a medical examination.
Which departments have vacancies and what is the pay?
The re-employment is based on a monthly remuneration calculated by subtracting the basic pension from the last drawn salary. There will be no DA, HRA, or annual increments, though transport allowance may be provided. The initial contract is for one year, extendable up to the age of 65 based on performance.
