Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has officially announced a new train service from Kalkaji to Shimla, aimed at enhancing travel experiences for passengers heading to Himachal Pradesh. The video shared by Minister Vaishnav reveals several interior features of the new train, which includes large mirrors designed for passengers to enjoy scenic views during their journey. Comfortable seating arrangements are also prominently displayed, ensuring a pleasant travel experience. Tourism and Schedule Details
In line with promoting tourism, the Northern Railway has introduced special trains on the UNESCO World Heritage Shimla-Kalka narrow gauge railway line, running until February 28, 2025. On the inaugural day, 81 passengers boarded the train, which operates under the train number 52443, departing Kalka at 8:05 am and arriving in Shimla at 1:35 pm. The return service, train number 52444, leaves Shimla at 4:50 pm and reaches Kalka at 9:45 pm. The trains will stop at several stations, including Dharampur, Barog, Solan, Kandaghat, and Summerhill, and consist of seven coaches, including general coaches, a chair car, and two first-class coaches, accommodating approximately 156 passengers.
