Introduction of Vande Bharat Express

The Indian Railways is set to enhance connectivity in Bihar with the introduction of a new Vande Bharat Express train service between Pataliputra and Gorakhpur Junction. Preparations for the operation of this train are currently underway, marking a significant advancement in rail transport in the region.

Travel Time and Route Details

This new Vande Bharat Express will cover the 397 km distance between Patna and Gorakhpur in approximately five to six hours, significantly reducing the current travel time. At present, existing trains operating on this route take between eight to ten and a half hours. The train will make stops at key stations including Sheetalpur, Khaira, Mashark, Gopalganj, Thawe Junction, and Kaptanganj Junction, making it a convenient option for passengers traveling between these locations.

Current Train Operations from Patna

Currently, there are several passenger trains running from Pataliputra to Gorakhpur, including train number 55007, which departs at 5 am and arrives at 4:30 pm, and train number 05079, which takes approximately 8 hours and 55 minutes for the journey. Additionally, train number 15079 leaves Pataliputra at 3:15 pm and reaches Gorakhpur Junction by 11:55 pm.
