Indian Railways has launched the RailOne app to make train travel easier for passengers. This app uses an AI engine to tell passengers the chance of their waitlisted ticket getting confirmed at the time of booking. The system was developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) to replace the old 40-year-old reservation system by August 2026.
How does the AI ticket prediction work
The AI system analyzes historical booking patterns, cancellation trends, and seasonal demand to give a probability score. The accuracy of these predictions has improved from 53% to 94%. This helps passengers decide whether to book a waitlisted ticket or look for other options, reducing travel stress.
