Western Railway has announced a significant traffic block in the Diva – Vasai Road section from February 16 to February 22, 2026. The block is being taken to facilitate the commissioning of a new UP and DOWN goods line at Kharbav station, which is a key part of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor project. Chief Public Relations Officer Shri Vineet Abhishek stated that although the work starts on Monday, the maximum impact on suburban and long-distance trains will occur on the weekend of February 21 and 22.

Several MEMU services connecting Vasai Road, Diva, Panvel, and Boisar will remain cancelled during the block period. Passengers traveling between the Central and Western lines via the Diva-Vasai section are advised to check alternate routes or use road transport during these dates.

Rescheduling and Refund Rules for Passengers
Apart from cancellations, some long-distance trains will face delays or timing changes. The Secunderabad – Rajkot Express (22718) will be regulated for 1 hour and 30 minutes at Bhiwandi Road on February 21. Additionally, the Veraval – Pune Express will depart at 14:35 hrs instead of 11:05 hrs, and the Indore – Daund Express will depart at 18:30 hrs instead of 16:30 hrs on the same day.
- Full Refunds: Passengers are entitled to a 100 percent refund for trains officially cancelled by the railways.
- e-Tickets: Refunds for online bookings will be processed automatically to the original payment source.
- Counter Tickets: These must be surrendered at the station window within 3 days of the scheduled departure to claim a refund.
- Official Apps: Commuters are urged to use the NTES or UTS apps to verify train timings before starting their journey.
