Northeast Frontier Railway extends trips for three special train pairs for the festive season

To accommodate the surge in passengers during the upcoming festive season including Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath, the Northeast Frontier Railway has increased the frequency of three pairs of special trains. According to NF Railway CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, the decision was made to manage heavy passenger crowds and address long waiting lists on regular trains during the holidays. These trains will operate with their previously scheduled timings, stoppages, and coach compositions, providing over 100 additional trips to passengers traveling between Bihar, Bengal, Assam, and Punjab. Passengers are advised to check the latest schedules and ticket availability through the official IRCTC website or the Rail Seva app.

Details of Extended Special Train Services

The Katihar-Amritsar (05736/05735) special train will run 12 additional trips from Katihar between September 9 and November 25, and from Amritsar between September 11 and November 27.

The Dibrugarh-Kolkata (05932/05931) special train, featuring 22 LHB coaches, will operate 13 additional trips from Dibrugarh between September 5 and November 28, and from Kolkata between September 7 and November 30.

Furthermore, the daily Bhagalpur-Katihar (03407/03408) special train has been extended from August 29 to November 30, resulting in 94 additional trips.
