NFR Special Trains: 4 New Routes for Durga Puja & Diwali

Commuters planning to travel home for the upcoming holidays have received a major boost from the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR). To manage the massive surge in passenger traffic during Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath, the railway zone has announced the operation of four new pairs of special trains.

This move is part of a much larger festive operation. According to NFR General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, the zone will operate a total of 48 festival special trains between September and December. These services will account for 620 trips, ensuring that passengers across the region experience seamless connectivity during the peak holiday period.

The newly announced special services are designed to link several key states, including Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Chandigarh. Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the NFR, highlighted that these initiatives are aimed specifically at enhancing passenger convenience during the busiest time of the year.

On a broader scale, Indian Railways is managing the nationwide festive rush by operating over 12,011 special train trips to accommodate travelers across the country.
