NCR to Adjust Barwadih-Chunar Passenger Service Amid Winter Fog
North Central Railway announces seasonal adjustments for passenger trains like Barwadih-Chunar to manage winter fog and ensure safety.

The North Central Railway is implementing a strategic plan to manage train operations during the upcoming winter season. To ensure operational safety and prevent widespread delays caused by dense fog, the railway has announced the partial suspension of certain passenger services for a three-month period.
Managing Winter Fog Risks
As part of an annual preventive strategy, the railway aims to mitigate risks associated with low-visibility conditions, which often result in cascading delays across the network. The Barwadih-Chunar Passenger (53351/53352) is among the services identified for these potential adjustments.
While the Barwadih-Chunar Passenger currently follows its regular schedule, the railway typically regulates frequency through its annual Fog Handling Plan. This plan generally spans from December to March to manage winter congestion effectively and maintain network efficiency.
Upgrading Safety with Kavach 4.0
In addition to scheduling changes, the North Central Railway is prioritizing the deployment of advanced safety technology to assist loco pilots operating in low-visibility environments. The commissioning of the Kavach 4.0 safety system is a key part of this effort.
Significant work is being carried out to implement these systems in critical areas, such as the Karchana-Mirzapur section, to enhance overall network safety during the fog-prone months.
