NCR Winter Schedule: Prayagraj & Jhansi Trains Cancelled
The NCR winter schedule is undergoing significant adjustments as North Central Railway (NCR) prepares for the arrival of dense winter fog. These proactive measures, which will be in effect from December 2026 through February 2027, are designed to prioritize passenger safety and maintain operational efficiency during the difficult weather conditions.
Dr. Shivam Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway, stated that these changes are necessary to manage the impact of fog on rail operations. A total of 13 trains will be affected by the revised timings and cancellations.
Major Train Cancellations
The revised schedule includes the full cancellation of four specific train services:
- Train No. 14112/14111 (Prayagraj–Muzaffarpur–Prayagraj): This service will be suspended from December 2, 2026, to February 24, 2027.
- Train No. 22198 (Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi–Kolkata): This train will not operate from December 4, 2026, to February 26, 2027.
- Train No. 22197 (Kolkata–Jhansi): The return journey will remain suspended from December 6, 2026, to February 28, 2027.
Partial Cancellations on Howrah-Mathura Route
In addition to full cancellations, certain services on the Howrah-Mathura route will experience partial disruptions:
- Train No. 12177: This service will be partially cancelled between Agra Cantt and Mathura from December 4, 2026, to February 26, 2027.
- Train No. 12178: This service will be partially cancelled between Mathura and Agra Cantt from December 7, 2026, to February 22, 2027.
Frequency Reductions and Passenger Safety
Beyond the cancellations, seven other trains will face a reduction in their operating frequency to mitigate the effects of heavy fog. This brings the total number of impacted services to 13.
