The North Western Railway is taking steps to help passengers travel smoothly by adding extra coaches to meet high travel demand this autumn. North Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Amit Sudarshan confirmed on August 27, 2026, that the North Western Railway is temporarily adding 37 extra coaches across 15 pairs of trains within the Jodhpur division throughout September 2026. This move is part of a larger network-wide plan to augment 47 pairs of trains with a total of 132 additional coaches. Passengers planning journeys on these routes will find it easier to secure confirmed tickets during the upcoming rush. Here are the key details of the coach augmentations and special services planned for the month.
Travelers commuting through the Jodhpur division will see capacity increases on several popular routes.
Trains 14866 and 14865 running between Jodhpur and Varanasi City will receive one 3rd AC coach from September 1 to September 30. Similarly,
trains 22977 and 22978 between Jaipur and Jodhpur will add one First-cum-Second AC and one 3rd AC coach from September 1 to September 30. For passengers heading to the capital,
trains 12463 and 12464 connecting Delhi Sarai and Jodhpur are bolstered by one 3AC, one Second Sleeper, and one General Class coach, operating from Delhi Sarai between September 2 and September 30 and from Jodhpur between September 3 and October 1. Additionally,
trains 22491 and 22492 between Jodhpur and Delhi will include one 3rd AC and one 3rd AC Economy coach from September 1 to September 8.
Long-distance travelers heading towards Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will also benefit from these seasonal enhancements.
Trains 14807 and 14808 running between Jodhpur and Dadar will feature one 3rd AC and two Second Sleeper coaches from September 1 to September 29. In the same corridor,
trains 20483 and 20484 between Bhagat Ki Kothi and Dadar are supplemented with one 3rd AC and two Second Sleeper coaches from September 3 to September 28. Furthermore,
trains 14801 and 14802 connecting Jodhpur and Indore will add two Second Sleeper and three General Class coaches from September 1 to September 30, and
trains 14854 and 14853 between Jodhpur and Varanasi City will see the addition of one 3rd AC coach from September 1 to September 30. Alongside these regular train augmentations,
the Jodhpur-Chennai AC Special train numbered 04815 departed Jodhpur at 9:20 PM on August 29, 2026, arriving at Chennai Beach at 8:00 PM after a 46-hour and 40-minute journey. This special service features reservations that opened on June 20, 2026, and consists entirely of air-conditioned coaches, including two AC 2-tier, 15 AC 3-tier, and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches, with
ticket prices starting at approximately 2685 INR.
