North Western Railway Operates Special Trains for Gogamedi Mela Pilgrimage in Rajasthan

The North Western Railway has launched an extensive transport plan for the annual Gogamedi Mela in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, which runs from August 28 to September 26, 2026. To accommodate an expected 40 lakh devotees, the railway administration is operating several special services, including an unreserved Gogamedi-Aligarh train. Key highlights of this transport plan include multiple special train operations, temporary stoppages for regular express services, and necessary partial cancellations on specific routes to manage the massive passenger rush during the month-long religious gathering.

Special Train Services and Schedules

The railway administration has planned a robust schedule of special train services to ensure smooth travel for pilgrims. The Rewari-Gogamedi specials operating as train numbers 04791, 04792, 04795, and 04796 will run on varied schedules between August 30 and September 21. Additionally, the Sadulpur-Gogamedi daily special operating with train numbers 04707 and 04708 will complete 30 trips throughout the Mela duration. Commuters can also avail themselves of the Hanumangarh-Sadulpur special train services numbered 04703 and 04704. Furthermore, the Shri Ganganagar-Sadulpur special running as 04745 and 04746 will operate from September 18 to September 21. To provide additional convenience, the Shri Ganganagar-Bandra Terminus express trains 14701 and 14702 will observe a temporary stoppage at Gogamedi station.

Route Adjustments and Local Arrangements

Due to these heavy operational adjustments and the massive influx of travellers, the Sadulpur-Hisar section of several regular routes including Delhi-Hisar, Hisar-Delhi, Rewari-Hisar, and Hisar-Rewari will face partial cancellations through September 26. Amit Sudarshan, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, confirmed the deployment of these trains to manage high passenger volumes effectively. On the ground, local preparations are being overseen by District Collector Dr. Khushal Yadav, which include the installation of 225 CCTV cameras for security and the allocation of approximately 650 shop sites. Comprehensive arrangements for drinking water, electricity, sanitation, and medical facilities have also been finalized to ensure a safe and comfortable pilgrimage experience for everyone attending the month-long event.
