Northern Railway Changes Routes & Timings for 45 Delhi Trains
Northern Railway announces major route and timing revisions for 45 trains in Delhi, including Purva Express and Vikramshila Express.
Northern Railway has officially announced a massive overhaul of schedules, routes, and terminal points for 45 trains operating in and around the Delhi region. These systemic adjustments are set to roll out in phases, beginning on October 28, 2026, and continuing through January 2027.
Immediate Changes: October 2026 Updates
Starting October 28, 2026, several key services will see immediate timing adjustments. The Purva Express (Train No. 12381) will now arrive at New Delhi Station at 6:20 a.m. and depart at 6:45 a.m. for Shakurbasti, where it is scheduled to arrive at 7:20 a.m.
The Delhi Junction-Satrod Passenger (Train No. 54085) will also see a change, with its departure from Delhi Junction moved up to 6:35 a.m. from its previous 7:10 a.m. slot.
By October 30, 2026, the return journey of the Purva Express (Train No. 12382) will be modified. The service is scheduled to depart from Shakurbasti at 4:35 p.m. and reach New Delhi at 5:15 p.m.
Major Shifts from January 2027
A second wave of significant changes will take effect on January 1, 2027, involving terminal shifts and route diversions:
- Humsafar Express (Train No. 12275): The service from Prayagraj will shift its terminal from New Delhi to Anand Vihar Terminal, arriving at 6:25 a.m.
- Vikramshila Express (Train No. 12367): The Bhagalpur Junction-Anand Vihar service will now reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 7:35 a.m., adjusted from its previous 7:20 a.m. arrival.
- Nauchandi Express: This train will undergo a route diversion, traveling via Transport Nagar and Utarethia instead of passing through Lucknow Station.

The scheduling updates also impact several other prominent services. Passengers traveling on the following trains should check for revised timings:
