The Northern Railway has announced major Delhi train schedule changes for 45 services, involving new timings and terminal shifts. These operational adjustments are designed to streamline traffic and will be implemented in a phased manner starting from October 28, 2026, with further updates rolling out throughout November and December 2026.
Key Revisions for Purva and Humsafar Express
Several prominent trains will see their arrival and departure timings modified to improve efficiency. For instance, the Howrah to New Delhi Purva Express is scheduled to arrive at its destination at 6:20 AM, effective from October 28, 2026.
The Prayagraj-New Delhi Humsafar Express (12275) will undergo even more significant operational changes:
- Effective October 29, 2026: The train will arrive at New Delhi at 6:35 AM, which is a 20-minute delay compared to its previous arrival time.
- Effective January 1, 2027: The terminal point for this service will be shifted from New Delhi to Anand Vihar Terminal. At this stage, the train will also transition to a seven-day-a-week operation, with a scheduled arrival time of 6:25 AM at the new terminal.
Changes to Return Services and Route Alterations
Passengers on the return journey of the Humsafar Express will also experience shifts in their travel timings. Starting October 28, 2026, the return service, train number 12276, will have its departure time from New Delhi moved to 11:05 PM, replacing the old 10:30 PM slot. Consequently, the train's arrival in Prayagraj will shift to 7:45 AM, down from the previous arrival time of 6:20 AM.
In addition to these timing and terminal modifications, the Northern Railway has confirmed that the Nauchandi Express will undergo route alterations as part of this broader rescheduling initiative to optimize rail traffic in the region.
