Northern Railway has announced significant operational changes to its Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters across the Delhi Division to manage the upcoming Diwali festival on November 8, 2026. To handle the expected surge in holiday travelers and streamline staff scheduling, several reservation centers will operate on modified schedules.

- Gurugram
These facilities will not be available for the second shift, which typically runs from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Partial Services and Evening Closures
For travelers requiring services later in the day, some major hubs will offer partial availability. The IRCA Building, Delhi Junction, and Hazrat Nizamuddin will provide services until 6:00 PM.
However, fifteen other centers will be closed for the evening shift. This includes reservation counters located in:
- Ghaziabad
- Noida
- Sarojini Nagar
- Kirti Nagar
Full-Day Closures and 24-Hour Counter Availability
Several specialized reservation centers will remain closed for the entire day on November 8. These include counters at:

- Parliament House
- Press Club of India
- Railway Board
- Jawaharlal Nehru University
Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, has clarified that 24-hour current reservation counters will remain fully operational as scheduled and are not subject to these timing revisions.
Passengers are strongly encouraged to complete any necessary reservation tasks during the designated morning hours and are advised to verify the status of their local reservation center before traveling.
