Northern Railway announces special trains connecting Lucknow to Mumbai and Delhi for festive season

The railway administration is stepping up preparations to manage heavy passenger traffic during the upcoming festive rush by launching several special train services. These new routes connect major transit hubs like Lucknow, Varanasi, and Sultanpur to high-demand destinations including Mumbai and Delhi. Passengers planning their holiday journeys can now take advantage of these additional services equipped with various classes of accommodation to ensure a comfortable travel experience.
The North Eastern Railway has confirmed the operation of the 05033 Gomtinagar-Valsad weekly special train, which will run from October 5 to November 23, 2026. This service is scheduled to depart Gomtinagar every Monday at 2:00 PM and arrive in Valsad at 5:00 PM the following day. Additionally, Northern Railway has introduced reserved express services between Varanasi and Anand Vihar Terminal. Train No. 04217 departed Varanasi on September 3, 2026, at 3:40 PM, arriving at Anand Vihar Terminal at 7:10 AM the next day. Its return service, Train No. 04218, left Anand Vihar Terminal on September 4, 2026, at 8:30 AM and reached Varanasi at 12:25 AM the next day. These particular trains feature AC 3-Tier Economy and General coaches, with strategic halts at Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli Junction, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad, Hapur, and Ghaziabad. An extra Old Delhi-Varanasi special service was also arranged for Janmashtami, departing at 9:10 PM and arriving at 3:00 PM the next day with AC, sleeper, and general-class coaches.
