Northern Railway is running a special unreserved train service on the Delhi-Shamli route to help passengers travel easily during the Raksha Bandhan festival. This special service aims to manage the heavy festive rush and ensure comfortable journeys for everyone celebrating the occasion.

Train numbers 04408 and 04407 will operate on August 27 and August 28, 2026. A major highlight of this service is a specially scheduled halt at Khekra railway station to provide great relief to local travelers. Along with Khekra, the train will also stop at Kandhla, Baraut, and Baghpat Road.

Train Timings And Schedule


Special train 04408 will depart from Shamli at 8:30 AM and reach Delhi Shahdara at 10:40 AM. For the return journey, train 04407 will leave Delhi Shahdara at 11:40 AM and arrive back in Shamli at 2:05 PM.

Broader Festive Arrangements


This special service is part of a larger plan by Indian Railways to handle heavy festive crowds efficiently. Indian Railways has announced a total of 47 special trains across various routes for Raksha Bandhan 2026, which falls on August 28.
