Northern Railway operates special trains between Delhi and Haridwar for Janmashtami

Northern Railway is running special train services between Delhi and Haridwar to accommodate the increased passenger traffic during the Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival. These services began on September 3, 2026, and are scheduled to run until September 6, 2026, to facilitate pilgrims and manage holiday travel demand. Train number 04413, an unreserved special, is departing from Delhi Railway Station at 11:00 PM on September 3, 4, and 5, arriving in Haridwar at 4:55 AM the following day. The return service, train number 04414, departs from Haridwar at 5:00 PM on September 4, 5, and 6, reaching Delhi at 10:00 PM. Both trains make intermediate halts at Ghaziabad, Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Roorkee, and Deoband. According to Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mahesh Yadav, these services are intended to ease festival travel. Passengers can purchase tickets for these unreserved trains via the UTS on Mobile app or at railway station counters. Other routes, including those serving Mathura, Varanasi, Ringas, Subedarganj, Ayodhya Cantt, and Anand Vihar Terminal, are also receiving additional special train support.

Important Guidelines for Festival Travellers

Northern Railway advises passengers to verify the latest schedules via the RailMadad helpline (139), the official railway enquiry website, or the NTES app. Passengers are requested to arrive at station gates 45 minutes before departure with their valid ID proof. In the event of a rescheduling delay exceeding three hours, passengers may claim a full fare refund. If a train is diverted to bypass a boarding station, passengers are entitled to file a Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) online within the stipulated timeframe.
