North Western Railway launches unreserved special trains for festival rush

North Western Railway is operating new unreserved special train services between Rewari, Phulera, and Jaipur to manage the heavy passenger rush following the Rakshabandhan festival. Chief Public Relations Officer Amit Sudarshan confirmed that these special trains will provide much-needed relief to daily commuters and festival travellers in areas including Narnaul, Ateli, and Nizampur.

Here are the key details of the newly announced unreserved special train services and operational changes:

The Rewari-Phulera unreserved special train number 09717 will operate from August 29 to 31, 2026, and from September 4 to 7, 2026, departing Rewari at 4:15 a.m. and reaching Phulera at 9:20 a.m.
The return service train number 09718 will depart Phulera at 1:00 p.m. and arrive in Rewari at 5:30 p.m. on the exact same dates with a composition of 15 coaches, including 13 general class and two guard vans.
The Rewari-Jaipur special train number 09720 will leave Rewari at 5:00 a.m. starting August 28, 2026, reaching Jaipur at 9:05 a.m., while the return trip train number 09719 ran on August 27, 2026.
The Madar-Rewari daily special train numbers 09639 and 09640 will run from September 25 to October 13, 2026, before extending to the Madar-Rohtak route until November 30, 2026.
Due to ongoing track doubling work on the Phulera-Ringas-Rewari section, selected trains are diverted via the Rewari-Alwar-Jaipur-Phulera route, skipping Ringas Junction until September 24, 2026.

Rewari-Phulera Special Train Schedule and Stops

Travellers planning to board the Rewari-Phulera unreserved special should note its detailed route. The train consists of 15 total coaches, featuring 13 general class coaches and two guard vans to accommodate maximum crowds without reservation hassles. Scheduled halts for this service include Kund, Ateli, Narnaul, Nizampur, Dabla, Maonda, Nim Ka Thana, Kawant, Sri Madhopur, Ringas, and Renwal. Passengers are advised to check platform details at Rewari and Phulera stations before boarding due to high commuter footfall.

Rewari-Jaipur Special and Route Diversions

The Rewari-Jaipur special train number 09720 operates with 11 coaches, including nine general coaches and two guard vans. Its scheduled halts cover Gandhinagar Jaipur, Getor Jagatpura, Dausa, Bandikui, Rajgarh, Malakhera, Alwar, Khairthal, and Bawal. Meanwhile, passengers travelling through the Phulera-Ringas-Rewari section must note that infrastructure development is underway. Because of essential track doubling work, trains on this stretch are temporarily diverted via the Rewari-Alwar-Jaipur-Phulera route and will skip Ringas Junction entirely until September 24, 2026. Commuters are encouraged to plan their journeys ahead of time and allow extra travel duration.
