Indian Railways: Online Porter & Wheelchair Booking from Nov 16

Indian Railways is set to revolutionize passenger assistance with the launch of a new digital booking system. Starting November 16, travelers can utilize the online porter wheelchair booking service to ensure that essential assistance is ready and waiting upon their arrival at the station.

Digital Support for Elderly and Disabled Passengers

This new initiative is specifically designed to enhance convenience for vulnerable travelers, including the elderly, the disabled, and those who are ailing. By allowing passengers to schedule these services in advance through a dedicated mobile application and website, the department aims to eliminate the uncertainty and struggle often faced when seeking help in crowded railway environments.

How the Service Will Work

The development and management of this new digital infrastructure have been entrusted to 'My Saathi'. This platform is intended to standardize access to station-based support services across the railway network, providing a more structured and reliable experience for all passengers.

According to Mihir Dev, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager for Ajmer, the department has finalized a three-year contract to facilitate this service. This digital transition represents a significant update to existing passenger assistance arrangements, bringing modern technology to traditional station services.
