Patalkot Express: 3 New AC Coaches Added from Dec 27
Indian Railways will add three additional AC coaches to the Patalkot Express starting December 27 to improve passenger capacity and comfort.
Passengers traveling on the Patalkot Express (20423/20424) are set to enjoy enhanced travel options. Indian Railways has announced plans to augment the train's composition by adding three additional air-conditioned coaches, effective from December 27.
Expansion of AC Accommodations
The Patalkot Express, which operates between Firozpur Cantt and Seoni, currently features a specific set of coaches to cater to its passengers. The existing configuration includes:
- Four Third AC (3A) coaches
- One Second AC (2A) coach
- Sleeper Class (SL) accommodations
To increase capacity and provide more comfort, the upcoming enhancement will introduce three additional AC coaches, specifically within the Second AC (2A) and Third AC (3A) classes. This move is expected to provide significant relief to travelers seeking premium amenities on this route.
Safety and Previous Incidents
While this service enhancement aims to boost capacity, the train has previously faced operational challenges. On October 25, 2023, a fire incident occurred in certain coaches of the Patalkot Express near Agra. Although the incident resulted in no casualties, Indian Railways established an official committee to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire to ensure passenger safety.
